Teresa Granger, a native of North Carolina, holds the Bachelor of Music Degree in Choral Music Education from Furman University, a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia, and holds certifications in Kindermusik and Orff. Teresa is currently teaching preschool music at the First Presbyterian Week Day School. She is the former music teacher at Rocky Branch Elementary School in Watkinsville, GA where she taught students in grades K-5. Her teaching career spans over 30 years of elementary music teaching in Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, and North Carolina. During her career, Teresa has taught and written curriculum for preschool, regular education, and special needs learners. Teresa has also worked collaboratively with the UGA School of Music as a supervising teacher for practicum students and student teachers.
Teresa is a four-time recipient of Teacher of the Year awards, at Rocky Branch Elementary and Howard Stroud Elementary (formerly Fourth Street Elementary), in Georgia, and Centerville Elementary and Concord Elementary in South Carolina.
Teresa serves as the Children’s Choir Coordinator at First Baptist Church, Athens, GA, and director of the Joyful Singers Choir for children in grades 3-6. She has coordinated and served with summer music camps for children including the Summer Fine Arts Camp, First Baptist Church, Athens, GA and the Music and Arts Week at First United Methodist Church, Athens, GA.
Teresa has served as a Children’s Choirs clinician most recently representing Growing in Grace for the Children’s Choir Summit is 2017 and the Alleluia Conference at Baylor University in 2016 and 2019. She was a guest children’s choir clinician for the Shocco Springs Children’s Choir Summit for the Alabama Baptist Convention in 2017 and 2015, the Celebrating Grace Church Music Leadership conference and Church Music Georgia, in 2013. Additionally, Teresa has served as a curriculum writer for the Growing in Grace Children’s Choir Curriculum contributing to the Fall 2019 and Spring 2014 series.
Teresa resides in Athens, Ga with her husband, Frank Granger. They have two adult sons, Ben and Adam.
